Children's books are funny sometimes

ok so i buy old books and cut them up for all sorts of (artistic?) reasons.
one of those reasons is that a local restaurant owned by my good friend Kevin hired me to make their check presenters. I cut the pages out and just use the hardback cover for these. I also use the old school paper pouch/sleeve? that libraries had affixed inside the front cover - used to show when your book was due back, etc. These make perfect sleeves for the bill/credit card to slide in to.
Today I was working on some of these - perusing this children's book before i took the Exacto to it..and well, probably the less said the better here . . .

Whoa, dude, that's a great gig. How's the food and vibe there? "Woof, woof," and little kitty has to bear the brunt of "here I come"...ouch.

Cafe Maude is an awesome place. A little loud--but that's a good problem to have. Great bar--the only place in town where you can get maraschino liqueur. I dig that place--and you can tell your friend I said so! (And the check holders are cool too--I had no idea you did those, Coleman my man.)

Yes Cafe Maude is great. And the food is f*@#ing delicious. Try the hangar steak. Also make sure to tell 'em you're there because you heard about the awesome check presenters.

I will do that! (As I'm enjoying a Aviation cocktail!) If I had a restaurant, I'd for sure commission you to do something about the check holders. Maybe the menus too!
